Seminars and Conferences

The Finance Group offers evening seminars, all day conferences, workshops and quick briefings from top class speakers on a range of topics. The emphasis for these events is placed on the sharing of information, knowledge, and experience. They are great opportunities to also network with fellow marketers.

Our evening seminars comprise a presentation from a high profile speaker with the opportunity to network over refreshment afterwards. They provide a valuable insight into the successful marketing strategies at top financial organisations, operating under Chatham House rules, where speakers and members can discuss issues of concern and share experiences with other participants, knowing that confidentiality will be respected.

The Finance Group works with a number of partner organisations often at reduced rates. Each conference selected for our members' interest attracts high level delegates from the finance industry. We ensure that speakers in featured conferences have been chosen as authorities in their respective fields, and that the content of the day includes up-to-the-minute coverage of hot topics, whilst examining a range of issues for marketers within the finance industry. Partner conferences are selected by a process of research to ensure they are relevant, focused, and objective. CIM CPD points are available on partner or jointly run conferences.

Similarly, the Finance Group partners provide our members a reduced rate on relevant workshops. Each workshop we feature for members' interest is designed to further participants' knowledge and understanding of a particular topic, while providing some practical exercises and exploration of key issues. Many are aimed at those with a basic knowledge and can also be used as a refresher on key marketing themes. Some require no previous experience, whereas others assume a level of competence. All workshops take place over a whole or half day, and we offer CPD points to those that are obtaining/maintaining their Chartered Marketer status.

Our partner, Unicom (please provide a link to the Unicom logo on the partner page), also offers complimentary invitations to Finance Group members to their speaker briefings. These are intensive introductions into the key points of a hot topic prior to a conference or media event by a high-calibre speaker. They are invitation only and are sent out by the Finance Group Chair.
